ILLUSTRATion-Children Books
Pat Achilles
In 20+ years of illustrating and designing for corporate, advertising and editorial clients I've developed styles that range from clean graphics to cartoons to classic children's book illustration. I've had cartoons published in the New Yorker magazine and illustrations in newspapers, trade publications and literary journals. I'm attentive to clients' message, target audience and deadlines. I've created dozens of unique corporate greeting cards based specifically on their industry and clients. My New Yorker cartoons can be seen by going to https://condenaststore.com/ and typing Pat Achilles in the search box. My blog, Pencilled In, shows recent works, my illustration process, and news in the field of illustration and is at achillesportfolio.wordpress.com/pencilled-in/ .
I have been honored to received awards in the Philadelphia Sketch Club's annual Phillustration Exhibit. I am an adjunct professor in the Illustration Department at Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, having taught internship preparation and professionalism in creative industries. I have given presentations on 'Getting Your Story Illustrated,' geared especially for children's book authors, and 'Marketing for Illustrators' for students in the visual arts.
